Ignatius C. Wang (born February 27, 1937, Beijing) is an American bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of San Francisco from 2002-2009. Ordained on January 30, 2003 as the titular bishop of Sitipa,[1] Wang is the first Asian American and Chinese American to be appointed to the office of bishop.[2]
On May 16, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI received the resignation of Bishop Wang in accordance with canons 411 and 401 para. 1 of the Code of Canon Law.
